When the experience alone isn't enough. Something happened you don't have words for, and the people around you either want to make it bigger than it was or explain it away. Integration means it gets taken seriously and worked with in your body and your life.

Starting point

Does this sound familiar?

Mariya brings over 18 years of experience with traditional psychedelic practice to trauma-informed preparation and integration support.

  • The ceremony ended but your body didn't

  • You need a clinician who won't flatten the experience

  • You want integration that settles into daily life

  • You feel changed and cannot explain how

  • Old material surfaced and has not settled

  • Friends either romanticize or dismiss it

Expressive arts, somatic tracking, and spiritual literacy are available when words run out, without spiritual bypassing.

The work itself

What psychedelic integration means in clinical practice

Psychedelic integration therapy is clinical support before and after non-ordinary experiences. Preparation clarifies intention, risk and aftercare; integration helps what opened settle into your body, relationships and daily life. It is trauma-informed, takes the experience seriously, and never involves facilitating or supplying a psychedelic experience.

A non-ordinary experience can open material your ordinary life does not know how to hold, insight, grief, terror, beauty, emptiness, or a sense of meaning that does not translate cleanly into Monday morning. Integration is the work of taking that seriously in body, relationship, and daily life, without inflating it into a spiritual performance or dismissing it as chemical noise.

At Silver Owl Therapy, integration is trauma-informed and paced. Mariya brings long experience with traditional psychedelic practice into clinical psychotherapy, preparation and processing that respects both the intensity of the material and the limits of what talk alone can carry.

Expressive arts, somatic tracking, and spiritual literacy are available when words run thin. Spiritual bypassing is not.

An experience can open a door. Integration is learning to walk through it in ordinary life, at a pace your body can hold.

How preparation and integration sessions work

Movements, not steps to complete. Sessions rarely run in a straight line.

  1. Clarify intention and container

Whether preparing or integrating afterward, we get clear about context, risk, support, and what you are actually hoping to meet, without turning the hour into hype.

  2. Work with what the body still holds

Images, sensations, emotions, and relational themes from the experience are tracked somatically so they can be metabolized rather than only narrated.

  3. Use creative process when language fails

Expressive arts can hold material that will not stay in sentences. Process matters more than product; no art skill is required.

  4. Bridge back into daily life

Integration includes sleep, relationships, work, and the parts of you that still need ordinary stability. Mystical insight without embodied follow-through often fades or destabilizes.

Fit

Who integration work tends to fit

Read both lists with integration work in mind. A mismatch here usually shows up as stalled work rather than sudden relief.

This is likely a good fit if

  • An experience ended and your body or mind did not fully come back with it
  • You need a clinician who will not flatten or sensationalize what happened
  • You are preparing for a legal or traditional context and want grounded support
  • Friends and community cannot hold the material without agenda
  • Trauma content, attachment wounds, or identity questions surfaced and need careful follow-through
  • You want the experience to settle into ordinary life, not stay as an isolated peak

This is probably not the right fit if

  • You want someone to facilitate or supply a psychedelic experience
  • You need in-person sessions. This is a virtual practice with no physical office
  • You are in crisis or need urgent care, which this practice is not set up to provide

If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8 in Canada, or call 911 in an emergency. Those services are available 24 hours a day.

Over time

What integration can support

Change here is gradual and individual. Nothing on this page is promised as a finish line.

People often feel less alone with the material and less split between the person who had the experience and the person who has to live afterward. Meaning may become more usable and less overwhelming.

Trauma content that surfaced can be worked at a clinical pace. Identity shifts can be metabolized without forcing a new persona overnight.

This is support for seriousness and care, not a promise that every experience will resolve cleanly or become a permanent transformation.

Less isolation

The experience may feel less like something you carry alone or have to defend.

Settled material

Images, grief or insight that surfaced may become less flooding when they return.

Insight, lived

What you understood may start showing up in choices, relationships and routines.

Practicalities

Integration sessions online across Ontario

Much of this work is conversational, somatic, and creative, all of which can happen over video. Meeting online across Ontario also means you can process sensitive material from a private space rather than traveling while still raw.

Fully virtual

Sessions are offered online across Ontario from this virtual practice, on a secure online telehealth platform with nothing to download.

What you need

A private spot where you can speak freely and notice yourself without performing for the screen. Headphones help; a polished setup does not matter.

After each session

A receipt is issued showing the service and CRPO registration, for submission to your insurer.

Before you book

Common questions

Do you provide or supervise psychedelic substances?

No. This practice offers psychotherapy for preparation and integration. It does not administer, supply, or clinically supervise illegal substance use.

What if my experience was destabilizing or frightening?

Difficult experiences are taken seriously. We slow down, prioritize safety and grounding, and work with what remains in the nervous system without forcing a positive reinterpretation.

Can integration help if nothing dramatic happened?

Yes. Subtle shifts, confusion, disappointment, or unfinished emotional material are all valid reasons to integrate. Intensity is not the measure of importance.

How is this different from mentorship?

Integration therapy is clinical psychotherapy. Mentorship offerings in this practice are a different container. If you are unsure which fits, a consult can help clarify without pressure.

Will you use spiritual language?

When it fits your worldview and does not bypass the body or trauma. Spiritual literacy here stays tethered to nervous system reality and relational honesty.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no set number, and any specific promise would be inaccurate. Most people meet weekly at first so the work has continuity, then review together. Some notice shifts after a handful of sessions; patterns rooted in early or complex trauma usually need longer, because a nervous system reads rushing as danger.

Can I claim sessions through my insurance?

A receipt is issued after every session showing the service and the practitioner's CRPO registration. Whether it is reimbursed depends on your plan: coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) varies between insurers, so confirm that wording with your provider before you book.
