What preparation and integration support is

Psychedelic preparation and integration sessions are one-hour online appointments for people who have chosen to work with psychedelics. Preparation covers intention, risk and aftercare; integration helps what emerged settle into body and daily life. Mariya draws on training with traditional practitioners in Peru, and never facilitates or supplies substances.

Psychedelic preparation and integration therapy is clinical support around non-ordinary states, not facilitation of ceremonies and not hype about breakthroughs. Preparation helps your nervous system, intentions, and aftercare plan before an experience. Integration helps the material settle into body, relationship, and daily life afterward.

Mariya brings long experience with traditional psychedelic practice alongside psychotherapy and expressive arts training. The container stays trauma-informed: pacing, consent, and respect for what the body can hold matter more than forcing meaning.

This offering is for people who have chosen or are seriously considering psychedelic work and want a clinician who will neither flatten nor sensationalize what happened.

My role is to offer a grounded, culturally sensitive container for an experience you have chosen for yourself.

How preparation and integration sessions run

  1. Clarify context and timing

We establish what kind of experience you are preparing for or integrating, your support system, and what your nervous system can currently hold.

  2. Prepare or stabilize

Before an experience: intention, pacing, and practical aftercare. After: orientation to safety, sleep, food, and not rushing the story into a neat takeaway.

  3. Work with what emerged

Sessions track body states, images, grief, insight, and relational fallout. Expressive arts or somatic tracking may help when language is thin.

  4. Return to ordinary life

Integration means the experience changes how you live, not only how you talk about it. We keep returning to relationships, work, and the nervous system’s new baseline.

Fit

Who this support tends to fit

This offering is clinical support around an experience you arrange elsewhere. Check both lists before you book.

This is likely a good fit if

  • You have an upcoming legal or traditional experience and want grounded preparation
  • Something opened in an experience and everyday life has not caught up
  • You need a therapist who understands psychedelic material without spiritual bypassing
  • Talk-only processing after an experience has felt incomplete in your body
  • You want integration that includes somatic and creative languages when words run out

This is probably not the right fit if

  • You want someone to facilitate, guide or supply a psychedelic experience
  • You need in-person sessions. This is a virtual practice with no physical office
  • You are in crisis or need urgent care, which this practice is not set up to provide

If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8 in Canada, or call 911 in an emergency. Those services are available 24 hours a day.

Over time

What integration can make possible

Change here is gradual and individual. Nothing on this page is promised as a finish line.

People often describe less isolation around the experience, more honesty about what changed, and a body that is less flooded or shut down when the material returns. Insight becomes something you can live, not only remember.

Integration is not linear. Some weeks feel clear; others bring unexpected grief or old survival patterns. The work stays paced so you are not re-traumatized by rushing meaning.

A gentler return

Coming back to work, family and routine after an experience may feel less jarring.

Clearer intention

Before you go, you may feel more oriented to why you are going and what support is in place.

Meaning that fits

What emerged can be understood in your own terms, without inflating or dismissing it.

Practicalities

Online integration support in Ontario

Preparation and integration sessions are online for clients in Ontario. Virtual care works well for this work when privacy and aftercare are solid. If you are seeking facilitated dosing, that is outside this clinical offering; we can help you think carefully about safety and fit instead.

Fully virtual

Sessions are offered online across Ontario from this virtual practice, on a secure online telehealth platform with nothing to download.

What you need

A private spot where you can speak freely and notice yourself without performing for the screen. Headphones help; a polished setup does not matter.

After each session

A receipt is issued showing the service and CRPO registration, for submission to your insurer.

Before you book

Common questions

Do you facilitate psychedelic sessions?

No. This is preparation and integration psychotherapy, not ceremony facilitation or supervised dosing. Clinical boundaries stay clear.

What if my experience was difficult or confusing?

Difficult experiences are taken seriously. We prioritize nervous-system stabilization and meaning-making that does not force a positive spin.

Can this combine with ongoing therapy?

Yes. Some people use focused integration sessions around an experience while continuing other therapy; others make integration the main focus for a season. We decide together.

Is expressive arts part of integration?

When it helps. Image and creative process can hold material that will not stay in talk alone. No art skill is required.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no set number, and any specific promise would be inaccurate. Most people meet weekly at first so the work has continuity, then review together. Some notice shifts after a handful of sessions; patterns rooted in early or complex trauma usually need longer, because a nervous system reads rushing as danger.

Can I claim sessions through my insurance?

A receipt is issued after every session showing the service and the practitioner's CRPO registration. Whether it is reimbursed depends on your plan: coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) varies between insurers, so confirm that wording with your provider before you book.
